INTRODUCTION:
Good morning everyone! we are very
happy to have the opportunity to have the students of this school with us
today, and we would like to thank the effort made by our teacher as well as part of the teaching team and students of the
school to realize the project “one day in your teacher's school ”.
We have been preparing for this day
for a long period of time, since we are very excited to carry out this project,
and we have developed a storytelling activity, which will consist of three
consecutive tasks which are designed to work the contents and standards of the
subject of Spanish language.
PROGRAMMING:
First of all we would like to explain two terms that will
be of vital importance for the development of the tasks; Storytelling and stopmotion.
To present these two terms we will use a presentation in powtoon, which is a
tool that allows you to make animated presentations, and that we personally
believe is one of the best ways to introduce new terms, since it makes learning
fun as well as effective.
Our first concept is STORYTELLING,
which is the act of transmitting stories through the use of words and / or
images.
We also think it is vitally important
to explain what STOP MOTION consists of, which is an animation technique that
consists of creating movement through a succession of images. Remember that it
is important that to set in motion each character the entire sequence of
movements must be photographed.
Once explained these two concepts we
would like to introduce our task.
First of all we would like to
highlight that our activity will be organized around the popular story
"Pinocchio". This story will be presented to the children to read,
understand and summarize. After they have read and summarized the story we will
present the different scenarios of the story, which we have previously
recreated on cards. These scenarios are: 1 whale with fire inside, 2 a theater
with puppets, 3 an ornate street of a city, 4 a park with children, 5 the
island of fun (this scenario can be designed in various ways, with the only so
that it shows a place that is fun for children), 6 an evil fox and a cat, 7
carpentry workshop where a man is working, and 8 a town square. (images of a
jacket and coins are also necessary for the character of Pinocchio). These
scenarios will be placed vertically on a table, so that they are successively,
from the beginning of the story to the end. We will also show you the different
characters we have made with cardboard, paper, cards, coloured paints, markers,
thread, cloth and glue.
The characters created for this activity are:
Geppetto
Pinocho
Wolf
Cat
Fairy godmother
Pepito Grillo
Puppeteer
Whale
The friend that lied to Pinocho.
Once the children have become
familiar with the scenarios, characters, etc. we will explain the rest of the
task to them. To begin they must create a stopmotion (its operation has been
previously explained in the powtoon) with the five most important moments of
the story, for this they must use both the created characters and the different
scenarios.
At this point, students will also be assigned
different roles, which will be written on pieces of cardboard that the children
will wear as a pendant.
SOCIAL DESIGN:
According to the schedule there will
be 7 or 8 students per group, therefore the roles will be:
4 writers
1 narrator
2 photographers
1 director
Once the roles are assigned, the
children will get down to work, take the photos to create the stopmotion, the
story script and record the story's narrative and then add it to the created
video. This process will be carried out by the students, but we will be
available at all times to answer questions, help them in the process, etc.
Once all the students have finished
their homework, the cameras have taken the photos, the scriptwriters created
the script, etc. the narration will be added to the created video and finally
this video will be uploaded to youtube.
ANEEXED:
I For more information about the
scenarios and the characters we advise to see the images of them, to be able to
make them correctly.
II It is highly recommended that
teachers who are interested in developing this task previously acquire basic
knowledge about youtube, powtoon, picpac, and the terms storytelling and
stopmotion, so that they can guide students in the development of this activity.
SPACE:
Our activity will take place in one
of the classrooms of the Aulario Giner de los Ríos, which we will prepare
beforehand according to the number of students we will have, so that everyone
can fully enjoy this experience.
DURATION:
The duration of this activity will be
approximately one hour, in which in the first minutes we will explain the
activity to the children through a presentation in powtoon and another oral
presentation carried out by ourselves.
Then we will leave the story ready for
children to read, summarize and extract the five most important events of the
plot. After having understood the story and summed it up, the children will
make a stopmotion with the five most important events, as well as a script.
After creating it, the children will record the narration and add it to the
video made from the photos. Finally the video will be uploaded to YouTube.
SET DESIGN:
The materials used for
this activity are:
- The powtoon application
- The picpac application
-Youtube
- The folk tale of
pinocchio
- The characters in the
story created with cardboard, glitter, paint and cloth
- The scenes of the
story, recreated on cardboards
- A table and various
cardboard boxes to place the scenarios
- Cardboards with
children's names
- Zeal, pens and markers.
- Mobile devices with
photo camera
- Computer
- Thread to join the
cards
OBJECTIVS:
The objectives of this activity are
very diverse, although all of them are raised taking into account the standards
and competences of the Spanish language subject of fifth grade. The stated
objectives are:
- Understand what the terms
storytelling and stopmotion mean
- be able to develop a task explained
through the powtoon application
- use the picpac application to
create basic videos from images
- Learn to use YouTube at the user
level, such as posting videos, commenting, etc.
- work as a team in a coordinated
manner, assigning different roles to each partner.
- Being able to identify the main
elements of the plot of a story.
- Create simple texts to be represented
or digitally recreated.
- Being able to summarize simple
texts to explain the main content of them.
- Read clearly and clearly, with
adequate intonation simple texts.
